Congratulations to Jack Kincade and Coach Jim Smith on their runner-up finish in the 10-event decathlon at the US Association of Track and Field Youth National Championships and World Youth Trials!
This top-two finish, along with a previously obtained meet-qualifying mark in the decathlon, earned Jack (age 15) consideration for the United States "under 18 year old" International Team. However, there were only 25 slots for over 45 potential male track team member qualifiers, and Jack was not selected.
Coach Smith did a great job of getting Jack ready in a very short period of time after the end of the school season. Again, good job!
